What is stress?
Stress can be a noun or a verb, and we mostly look for
answers to stress as the noun. One definition in the dictionary says stress is
“a state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or
very demanding circumstances”. Not all stress is negative – short term stress
can actually boost the immune system and forces us to adapt. Fight OR Flight OR
FREEZE reaction. New job, big event,
etc. However, when occasional stress exceeds our ability to cope it is
considered negative stress (distress).
